WRITING Bird Week

We have been having a bird focus for writing this week.

It started with a Gouldian Finch that I brought to school from our aviary.  The children were very excited to see it.

Here are a few samples of their work.



The Gouldian finch is colourful.
It is pretty and I liked it.

The birds name is called a Gouldian Finch.
It is red, green, blue, yellow and black.
It can fly and it is cute. It has wings.

The bird can fly in the cage.  It is colourful.

Today we watched some Kiwi documentaries and this is what the children wrote;

The baby kiwi came out of its egg.  
The adult kiwi feed the baby kiwi.
         James

The kiwi eats worms. The cat 
caught the kiwi. The kiwi is 
killed.
        Milton

The kiwi’s eat worms.  I like kiwi.  
The kiwi is brown and cute and the beak is long.
         Danni

The mum and dad kiwi found an 
egg and they took it into the 
bush to keep it safe.
